Top 5 Coffee Places In Brighton Michigan | Living in Michigan - If you are anything like me, you have a slight addiction when it comes to coffee, and it’s safe to say you’ve probably had a fair share of cups in your lifetime too. In this video, I want to tackle the top 5 coffee spots in Brighton, Michigan that aren’t your typical everyday franchises.
This blog is a direct transcript from the video below. This comes in 3 versions: You are able to watch the video, read the blog for your convenience or listen to the audio experience (which is linked under the video below).
Are you sick of spending $34 on a caramel macchiato with 2 pumps of almond cream, shredded chocolate, special sugar, 12 shots of espresso, chocolate syrup with a drizzle of caramel and whip cream to top it off at Starbucks? Same, that drink would probably kill someone but that’s beside the point. that’s another reason why you need to find the diamond in the haystack. The diamond being great coffee places, and the haystack being Brighton if you didn’t catch on.
Before I jump into this list, I want to disclose that these coffee spot owners did not bribe me with free coffee to have them placed where they are on this list, and if they did, I’d consider it for just a small second. This is based on personal preference, and conversations with other locals along with reviews.
Starting this list off at number 5, The Fuel. If you’re not familiar with The Fuel, it’s part of a trio located in the Green Oak Village place off of US-23 in Brighton. I say trio because not only can you get the fuel (beverages and healthy options), you can get the ride (Indoor cycling, strength training and nutrition), and the space (which is a fitness based yoga studio). A one-stop-shop for all your fitness and nutritional needs. I put the fuel at the bottom of the list, because they aren’t necessarily a coffee spot, but they offer a decent coffee menu with dairy free alternatives. Which consists of lattes, cappuccinos, teas and your everyday cup of joe. If you’re interested in this unique trio, I’ll link their menu in the description.
Jumping on over to number 4, The Coffee Beanery. This spot is on the list because it was founded in Flushing, Michigan. They opened their first stores in 1976. This place has amazing coffee, and anyone you talk to who has been there will definitely attest to it. The only reason they weren’t higher on this list is because they have become a chain with over 100 locations throughout the U.S., and 20 locations internationally, and my main focus here is to shed some awareness on these mom and pop spots in Brighton, Michigan, but I’ll give credit where credit is due for a Michigan-based coffee spot that expanded all over the world. Located off Old US. 23, you’re going to want to stop by if you haven’t come across a coffee beanery of your own. I’ll of course link the menu in the description so you can see their extensive options.
Hopping on over to number 3 on the list, Two Brothers Coffee Brew & eatery. I’ve been to Two brothers quite a bit over the years. I’ve met clients there, business partners, and I can honestly say it has a great atmosphere for socializing. I know they have just recently taken on some new ownership, so they are going through that stage of growing pains, but overall, it’s nothing too fancy, just a place to get your morning coffee. I shouldn’t say that entirely because they do have good breakfast food, wraps, and finger foods. Above all else they do serve alcohol too, and have different types of spiked coffee beverages. I might be a little biased here, but alcohol and coffee is not a pairing I find very appealing, but nonetheless, this spot off Main St. is one you need to check out, and again, I’ll link to their facebook page, so you can get an idea of what they’re all about.
Next on this list coming in at number 2, is Whitney’s French press café, and before I brag about them for a little bit, if you haven’t had a French press coffee, you haven’t lived yet. So crawl out from under that rock and go to the closest place that sells them. Whitney’s French press café is the definition of a mom and pop spot that was opened in 2021 by a couple who have a passion for baking, and a passion for French press coffee. Located in the Genoa Business Park, in a short span of time, they have become a local business filled with regulars, and on top of that, they are big supporters of 6 or so other local businesses. This is a place where you’ll sit back with an energizing cup of a coffee and a pastry to kickstart your day. There truly is no better way. They have a million French press coffee flavors (it seems like), so I’ll link the menu in the description so you can spend 3 hours looking at it before you know what you want.
Last but not least, we have number one, the Brighton coffee house and theater. I’ve bragged about them in a few of my other Brighton videos, and for good reason. This one-of-a-kind spot that sits on Main street in Brighton, is owned by the Goller family who have been friends of mine for a very long time, (does that mean there’s bias here?), not really, they definitely deserve this number one spot, especially with the creativity behind not only their coffee, but their atmosphere as well. And just like the title says “Brighton” they are family owned and Brighton is their home. “Coffee house”, a hearty menu full of coffee, tea, snacks, baked goods, and lunch options. “Theater”, a place where real-life dramatic arts, cinema, music art, and crafts hit their unique stage. This spot is all about the atmosphere and being able to sip on their artisan coffee and teas while being entertained, has become a staple to the city. So be sure to make a visit or 20 when you find yourself passing through Brighton.
This list was not meant to throw shade at any of these coffee places, but instead shed awareness about some of the amazing coffee places in Brighton, Michigan and what they have to offer. And if you were paying attention, you might have noticed that each one of these 5 places has a very unique value proposition that sets them apart from the other, and that’s why a smaller town can have these 5 places live in harmony in this town, because each one is a matter of preference. Are you leaning more towards fitness and healthy living? Look into the fuel. Are you wanting to have a nice place to socialize and do business outside the office? Check out Two Brothers. If you want to have a cup of coffee that will be at the top of your personal list? Check out the coffee beanery. Were you thinking about trying out a few different flavors of French press? Check out Whitney's. And Lastly, did you want some entertainment while you drank some coffee? Go to the Brighton Coffee House and Theater.
I hope this list of the top 5 best coffee places in Brighton, Michigan gave you some value and direction to your next cup of coffee.
